Multi-objective group scheduling with learning effect in the cellular manufacturing system

    Get PDF
Group scheduling problem in cellular manufacturing systems consists of two major steps. Sequence of parts in each part-family and the sequence of part-family to enter the cell to be processed. This paper presents a new method for group scheduling problems in flow shop systems where it minimizes makespan (Cmax) and total tardiness. In this paper, a position-based learning model in cellular manufacturing system is utilized where processing time for each part-family depends on the entrance sequence of that part. The problem of group scheduling is modeled by minimizing two objectives of position-based learning effect as well as the assumption of setup time depending on the sequence of parts-family. Since the proposed problem is NP-hard, two meta heuristic algorithms are presented based on genetic algorithm, namely: Non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) and non-dominated rank genetic algorithm (NRGA). The algorithms are tested using randomly generated problems. The results include a set of Pareto solutions and three different evaluation criteria are used to compare the results. The results indicate that the proposed algorithms are quite efficient to solve the problem in a short computational time

This article benefits from the perspective of knowledge management on the organization social networks. This study was an attempt to investigate how employees benefit from organizational social networks in order to create value and expand the knowledge management. It also considers different usage of organizational social networks and its value for knowledge management. Also, five functions of social networks have been studied, which includes: problem solving, generating ideas, updates, task management, and informal conversations. This research is an applied one and data was gathered by questionnaires and regression analysis with SPSS software was used as means of data analysis. The community of this study included 100 employees of " Hamkaran System", who use professional social networks. A group of 75 employees was selected as the sample group for research through Cochran's formula. To evaluate the Content validity and reliability of the questionnaire was used of Comments professors and experts and Cronbach's alpha. Results showed that the organizational social network is able to create value for innovation by helping people in effective use of social networking functions and enrich the abilities of knowledge. Effective participation in organizational social networks can cause to active knowledge management and create value. The purpose of valuation is assessment of the benefits of organizational social network to gain effective knowledge

Bank card fraud detection using artificial neural network

There is no accurate data for the bank cards fraud in Iran. But, it seems to be a growing trend in this regard and in the near future it is going to become one of the critical problems in Iran's banking system. Unfortunately, not enough research works have been done in this field in our country and the banking system requires models that are efficient enough to ensure safe use of bank cards. In this paper, after identifying the most common types of bank cards frauds and fraudulent transactions simulation, Artificial Neural Network (ANN) was used for the classification of transactions into two types of legitimate (non-fraud) and fraudulent (suspicious) actions. The proposed model is a Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) neural network designed based on the domestic banking system and is able to classify the transactions with more than 99 percent accuracy. Measures of performance calculated in this study are compared with the results of other research models. The results show that the proposed model is quite reliable and valid

The Prediction of Customer Repurchasing Behavior (Case: An Internet Service Provider)

This article develops a theoretical structural model representing the repurchase behavior so that it can measure the repurchase index. The basic model was the European customer satisfaction index that is developed here by adding two latent variables: advertisement as an independent variable and repurchase intention as a dependent variable. Data from a questionnaire survey of 150 respondents from clients of Internet Service Provider (ISP) was used to analyze the model. As shown here, PLS path modeling may represent a valuable tool to measure repurchase index in the setting of service industry, this index shows that 79% of customer would continue purchasing from the company and 21% would leave it. Our model allows for the identification of areas where the service can be improved and consequently increases the repurchase intention

An Analysis of Political Coherence Cycle in Information and Communication Technology Governance System in Iran

    No full text
In all countries, entity or entities are responsible for the governance in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). In Iran, the governance of this area is the responsibility of several institutions which they must consider a set of elements and their relationships at the national level. The main objective of this paper is to institutionally analyze Iran's ICT governance system based on the cycle of cohesion policy and reviewing the existing challenges. With the review of the literature, a model for cohesion policy has been extracted. Based on this model and extensive research in the literature and interviews with experts in this field and by identifying responsible institutions in the governance of ICT and explaining their key roles in making policies the current situation and institutional challenges in each phase of the model is analyzed. Finally, to overcome the challenges ahead, some suggestions are presented

How to Create Business Value through Information Technology (A Case Study on Automotive Production)

    No full text
This study aimed at designing information technology business value model in order to explain the value of information technology in business and evaluate information technology contribution in organization function. For the purpose of a comprehensive analysis of the subject using qualitative data, the research method was set to be mixed method focusing on qualitative sequential design. The first stage of the research strategy was an exploratory single case study and for the second phase, the researchers used focus groups design. Saipa Corporation, one of the most famous firms in Iranian automotive industry, was selected as the case. The varied qualitative date were gathered through interview, document review and observation methods and were analyzed afterwards. Ultimately, the findings of the study highlighted the items and dimensions of information technology business value. This model is composed of the relationship between different dimensions of the theoretical models regarding and the share of information technology in building a business. In order to ensure research generalizability, the results of the research were compared with those in the literature review and the theoretic adequacy of the proposed framework was confirmed

Multidimensional Structure for Definingthe Effect of Organizational Culture and Supply Chain Culture on Knowledge Sharing in Supply Chain of Automotive Industry: With Emphasis on Improving Supply Chain Performance

: One of the key aspects of knowledge management is organizational culture. Finding an appropriate culture and key indicators for culture in implementation and execution of knowledge management are one the most important matter in knowledge management implementation in any organization. So, the main purpose of this article was presenting a multidimensional structure for organizational culture and supply chain culture with the aim of effective knowledge sharing in supply chain of automotive industry of Iran. First, according to the literature review, key indicators for any dimension of multidimensional structure of the research were defined. Then, key indicators were revised, adjusted and modified by three industry experts and three college professors, so 4 questions and 5 hypotheses were offered. Next, that multidimensional structure has been assessed as a survey and cause-effect study in supply chains of Iran Khodro Company and Saipa Company.115 industry professionals have participated in this study. In the research, after testing co-linearity between variables, relations between different dimensions of the multidimensional structure have been assessed with the help of path analysis. Research findings showed that the multidimensional structure introduced in the study had an appropriate fitness in automotive industry. The results of path analysis also showed that the culture of the supply chain has had the greatest impact of Business culture. On the other hand, business culture had a strong but indirect effect on supply chain performance. And finally, the greatest effect of knowledge sharing and transferring was on non-financial performance of supply chain
